YEREVAN. - The Armenian government today held a consultation on fostering domestic production export. The consultation, presided by Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan, was attended by the representatives of state agencies concerned and businessmen.

During the consultation, the current situation in the area of fostering domestic production export, measures implemented in that direction, as well as available opportunities were discussed.

In this context, issues related to the boosting of domestic product export to Russia and EEU member-states were discussed. Upon the proposal of the Armenian PM, Vache Gabrielyan, Deputy PM and Minister for International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia, presented the situation to be expected given Russia’s sanctions with regard to the Turkish products and the possibilities of increasing the volume of the Armenian product exportation. Specifically, possible measures and actions in the sphere of agriculture, tourism and investments were discussed.

During the exchange of ideas, the issues of the exporting companies were presented to the PM.  Abrahamyan said that the government is ready to support any reasonable initiative aimed at boosting the export. He urged the businessmen not to lose the chances in the situation emerged and increase the volume of products exported to the Russian market.

The PM also ordered the heads of agencies concerned to actively work in the areas identified by them and submit a precise plan to the government shortly.
