Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin ranked 19th of 20 trusted leaders in the world, Global Leaders confidence poll of WorldPublicOpinion.org informs.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon received the second-highest rating, on average 40%-35% positive evaluations across 20 nations. German Chancellor Angela Merkel ranked third with 40% of polled expressing confidence in her, and 38%-not, RIA New Region reports. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is the 4th among the trusted leaders, French President Nicolas Sarkozy is the 5th, and Chinese President Hu Jintao closes the top 6.

As for the leader of the poll, the US President Barack Obama having 6 months of presidency, is the most trusted world leader with 61% of all polled, while 31% indicates little confidence in him. “His communication skills and the change he represents create an open door for him to engage people around the world”, said the research head Stefan J. Weber.
