YEREVAN. – Kyrgyzstan citizen Arabzhon Baytaliev, 19, who had illegally crossed the border of Armenia and then attempted to cross back into Turkey, was sentenced to four months in prison.

Baytalev’s attorney, Karen Stepanyan, told the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Baytaliev was already in prison for three months and twenty days; one week had remained,” Stepanyan noted. “The four-month detention period expired several days ago, and has been released.”

In the attorney’s words, the Kyrgyz citizen’s mother is in Armenia, too, and they are preparing documents.

According to the indictment, on September 1, 2015, Arabzhon Baytaliev was deported from Turkey, but he planned to return there. On September 23, he entered Armenia from the Bagratashen checkpoint at the country’s border with Georgia. On the same day, he attempted to illegally cross into Turkey from Armavir province of Armenia. Baytaliev, however, was apprehended by the Russian military servicemen patrolling the Armenian border.

Criminal charges were brought against him.
