YEREVAN. - The Armenian Government cannot yet inform anything about the talks with Russia on revision of gas prices.

Armenia’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Yervand Zakharyan stated the aforementioned in the parliament today.

“Armenia PM considered it necessary to turn to the Russian side for this question. The discussions are underway but aren’t going round a specific figure, and it isn’t yet possible to inform about the details of the ongoing talks,” the Minister said.

In December 2013, Armenia and Russia agreed on a gas price on the border, which is $189 per 1,000 cu m. Since 1 January 2015, price in the amount of $165 is used for compensating the currency risks (fall of AMD rate in November-December 2014).

Minister Zakharyan has repeatedly stated that Iran hasn’t officially offered a price lower than that of Russian Gaszprom.
