Nine people died from the fire that ensued the military’s shelling in the Kurdish-populated Cizre town of Şırnak Province in Turkey.

The Turkish military shelled a residential building, where a fire broke out, according to Birgün daily of the country.

Nine residents, however, could not get out of the collapsed building, and they burned to death.

Even though Kurdish members of the Turkish parliament asked the minister of interior to permit an ambulance to come near the collapsed building, their request was denied.

A curfew is in place in Cizre for the past sixty days, and as a result, innocent civilians are killed there every day. The Turkish security forces shoot at any moving object.
