With the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), trade within EEU countries outside Russia has grown.

Tatyana Valovaya, Member of the Board (Minister) of the Eurasian Economic Commission in charge of the main directions of the EEC integration and macroeconomics, told the aforementioned to journalists at the Moscow-Astana-Yerevan press-conference today.

According to her, it’s very important that the Eurasian Union countries are beginning to look for a trade opportunity not only with Russia, but also with each other, although that index used to be moderate before. Specifically, the trade between Belarus and Kazakhstan is growing faster than that with Russia. Slight growth in trade is even observed between Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, which almost didn’t have economic contacts before.

“2015 proved to be an economically difficult year: our mutual trade reduced by 26 percent. However, it has slightly but grown between Armenia and Kyrgyzstan,” Valovaya added.
