YEREVAN. – Within the framework of the electricity transmission network reconstruction project which is being implemented in Armenia through the Asian Development Bank (ADB), it is planned to expand the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system in the country

To this end, ADB has provided Armenia a $13.6 million long-term loan, whose maturity date is set to 25 years. Moreover, the first five years of this loan will be a grace period.

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the Armenian government’s co-funding for the implementation of this project will total $2.5 million.

Even though the SCADA system is already running in Armenia, it needs to be expanded and updated in order to operate in full and more effectively.
