YEREVAN. - Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan thinks that the political forces carried out corresponding work to prevent voting on the anti-Armenian reports at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe  (PACE).

Ohanyan told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am today, responding to the question on whether he also considers the failure of one of the anti-Armenian reports a victory.

“I think the Armenian political forces carried out corresponding work to prevent the adoption of the anti-Armenian reports, [making it clear] that they have a biased objective, have been worked out partially and express Azerbaijan’s stance.

If this weren’t so, they would have backed the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s initiatives on matters related to the same Sarsang Reservoir report. There are pumping stations and water lines, which must be jointly repaired and used,” Seyran Ohanyan said.

In any case, it wasn’t possible to fail the anti-Armenian report on Sarsang Reservoir, and it was passed in favor of Azerbaijan. Ohanyan thinks that this is only a viewpoint and it would be better if it hadn’t been passed.

“What currently goes on with Sarsang Reservoir, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic implements within its capacities, ensuring all the existing international norms. It’s a viewpoint which has been passed, but it would be better if it hadn’t passed.

Responding to the question on whether the Armenian Delegation to PACE should respond by another report to prove the opposite, the Minister said: “I think that regardless of how much we are hit from aside, we should enhearten and make conclusions.”
