YEREVAN. – Roads in Armenia are mostly drivable as of Wednesday 10am, informed the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.

But several intercommunity motorways and the Vardenyats (Selim) Pass are closed for traffic.

Some other motorways are difficult to pass.

And there is black ice on some parts of a number of highways in Syunik Province.

The road crews are scattering salt and sand on the motorways and also cleaning them to ensure safe travel.

The Ministry advises drivers to travel on these roads only when absolutely necessary, and with winter tires on their vehicles.

And according to the information received from the Emergency Situations Department of Georgia, the country’s Stepantsminda-Larsi Highway, which leads to the Armenian border, is open solely for passenger vehicles with chained wheels.
