YEREVAN. – In 2015, Armenal company, which manufactures aluminum foil in Armenia, increased product exports to the European Union (EU) countries by 4.5 times, the company press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Armenal is a subsidiary of Rusal company (Russia), which is the world’s largest aluminum producer.

The Armenian company produced 29,653 tons of aluminum foil in the year past; this was 1.4 percent more than the 2014 indicator. And its exports to EU countries increased by 4.5 times reaching 16,400 tons.

Around 700 people are employed at Armenal, and their average salary is more than twice the average salary in Armenia.

Armenal is the only company producing aluminum foil in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
