The so-called “coding” of the representatives of indigenous minorities has been abolished in all the educational institutions managed by Turkey’s Education Ministry.

Armenian MP of the Kurdish People's Democratic Party (HDP), Garo Paylan, inquired about this from Turkey’s Minister of the Interior. The latter stated that the practice of “coding” has been completely abolished, Istanbul-based Armenian newspaper “Agos” reports.

This practice, which was used for 90 years, will no longer be applied in the Passport Office either, the newspaper writes.

Garo Paylan stated that the use of “codes” must be banned in all state structures.
