The Belgian authorities have urged their citizens not to take part in the March against Fear due to safety concerns, RTBF radio-television company reports, citing the  Interior Minister Jan Jambon  and Mayor of Brussels Yvan Mayeur.  

The march was scheduled for Sunday, March 27, RIA Novosti reports.

The urge to refrain from participating in the march is based on the necessity to mobilize the police forces to ensure security and support the measures which are supposed by the third level of terror threat declared in the country.

“Considering the maintaining third level threat, the investigations underway and mobilizations, as well as the capacities of the police in the country, we want to ask the citizens not to take part in the demonstration tomorrow,” Mayeur said during the press-conference.  

Jambon supported him in this statement. The officials also suggested cancelling the demonstration for several weeks.
