Assem Jihad, a spokesman for the Iraqi Oil Ministry called a meeting of oil producers in Doha a good step, despite the fact that its members were unable to come to a consensus on freezing oil.

In an interview with Sputnik Agency Jihad claimed that he did not think that the failure of the meeting in Doha was the end, it could be considered as rather good beginning. It was the first meeting of the OPEC member countries and countries that are not members of the organization. He also added that there was a need to repeat the attempts to meet to achieve mutual understanding .

Oil-producing countries on Sunday failed to reach an agreement on the freezing of oil production as a result of the meeting in Doha. As participants of the meeting said, a number of OPEC countries, primarily Saudi Arabia, unexpectedly began insisting on a wider range of participants, at least, all OPEC members.
