YEREVAN. - Nobody must doubt the aggression of Azerbaijan, European Parliament deputy Frank Engel said at a press-conference Monday.

In his words, the elderly people whose ears were cut off, and the beheaded soldiers, whose heads were demonstrated with admiration in the Azerbaijani villages, became a vivid example of that country’s aggression. “These days we celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. We must understand that another genocide might recur. The responsibility of the international community is to protect. The Nagorno-Karabakh faces the threat of elimination. It will be possible to prevent all this through recognizing the Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state,” Engel stressed.

According to the MEP, the talks are suspended at the moment. “And now it is necessary to raise the issue on recognizing the Nagorno-Karabakh independence. The international community must protect the Karabakh population. Apparently, the only aim of Azerbaijan is to eliminate not only Karabakh, but everyone living there,” Frank Engel said.
