YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan today received Director of the World Health Organization's (WHO) Regional Office for Europe, Zsuzsanna Jakab

At the outset of the meeting, Ms Jacab offered condolences in connection with the casualties who died as a result of the escalation of tension on the Karabakh-Azerbaijani Line of Contact during the recent weeks, press-service of the President reports.

Mr Sargsyan and Ms Zsuzsanna Jakab expressed mutual satisfaction with over 25 years of cooperation between Armenia and WHO, stressing that in the recent years Armenia has taken important measures towards primary preservation of health aimed at promoting the population’s healthy lifestyle, improvement of medical assistance and availability of medical services.  

The Director of the WHO Regional Office assured that WHO will continue its close cooperation with and support to Armenia’s health sphere, considering the national priorities.
