The support to finding optimal ways to agreements between the sides to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict continued, with the use of all the instruments available, including high and highest-level meetings, reads the Survey on the Foreign Policy Activity of Russia in 2015, prepared by the Russian MFA.

“The corresponding initiatives were thoroughly discussed during the visit of the President of the Russian Federation to Yerevan (April) and Baku (June). The intensive dialogue on the level of foreign ministers [also] continued.

Seven meetings with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as a series of consultations with the heads of foreign policy agencies were held in close cooperation with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs (U.S. and France). Communications also took place with the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh.

At the session of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers in Belgrade (December), the statement of the heads of Russian, U.S. and French delegations recorded urgent call to the sides to confirm their commitment to the peaceful settlement of the conflict and continue the work aimed at achieving comprehensive normalization on the basis of the existing proposals. The meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia allowed to ascertain the positions of the sides on most problematic issues of the negotiation process,” the survey says.
