YEREVAN. – Regular, routine inspections are carried out in the building of the British Embassy in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, Embassy Communications Coordinator Narine Bezirganyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In her words, this is the reason why the embassy is closed, at present.

“We expect that British technicians to arrive in Armenia next week and carry out more thorough final inspections,” Bezirganyan stressed. “At any rate, we continue working, but not in the embassy building.

“Since we will rest on Monday[, May 2,] in connection with a holiday in Great Britain, Judith Farnworth, Great Britain’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia, will be here on Tuesday[, May 3].

Earlier, the embassy had tweeted: “The British Embassy Yerevan will be temporarily closed on [Thursday,] 28 and [Friday,] 29 April for technical reasons.”
