Azerbaijani aggression against the population of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) should receive targeted condemnation.

Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Canada, stated the aforementioned during his talk with Stéphane Dion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada.

Bishop Hovakimyan presented the Azerbaijani armed forces’ most recent atrocities against the Armenian civilians—including children—in Karabakh, according to French Armenian Nouvelles d’Arménie monthly magazine.

He added that solely a fair and lasting resolution to the Karabakh conflict can bring about peace, and he called on the Canadian authorities to respect the free will of the people of Artsakh.

Separately, the primate of the Armenian Diocese in Canada highlighted the need to open a Canadian embassy in Armenia, and urged the Canadian FM to visit Armenia.
