YEREVAN. – The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be resolved within the framework of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, and by way of negotiations.
Brazilian Ambassador to Armenia Edson Marinho Duarte Monteiro stated the above-said at a press conference on Tuesday, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed.
In the diplomat’s words, the Karabakh conflict is a delicate matter, and it is not the case that Brazil may be included in its resolution.
“It is a task that everything be solved with cooperation, through negotiations,” the ambassador stressed. “As the foreign minister of Armenia said, in the talks, the claims that need to be announced are not at all important, but the actions that are carried out.
“In my opinion, and Brazil’s state position is that, the Minsk Group is in charge of the settlement of the problem. And I believe the conflict should be discussed and resolved within the framework of the Minsk Group itself.”
