YEREVAN. - There is no monopoly on fuel oil in Armenia, Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan stated in the parliament Wednesday.

In his words, according to the instruction of the President, on May 12 he gave an order to control the freedom and equal access to markets. “Regardless of the reluctance of political forces to believe the sincerity of our work, we will try to dissuade them by our work,” Abrahamyan said.

In his words, the State Committee for the Protection of Economic Competition watches over possible violations.

And today the Armenian PM hosted another consultation, as a result of which he concluded that there are no limitations on the market. “Any company, which wants to import fuel oil, can engage in that business. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) recently adopted a technical regulation in the mentioned sphere, and our condition is that the work of the business be in line with these criteria. According to the preliminary information, these normatives were somewhat violated. We will provide more information on this. But I want to reiterate: there is no monopoly,” the PM said.
