STEPANAKERT. - Mayor of Stepanakert, capital city of Karabakh, sent a letter to the Mayor of Donostia city (San Sebastián) of the Basque Country.

The latter reads as follows:

“Let me personally thank you on behalf of the Stepanakert population and personally express my sincere gratitude in connection with the institutional statement adopted by Donostia Municipality, in which you express support to our city and confirm its residents’ right to live peaceful and normal life. 

During this difficult period, when we again have to defend our lives, dignity and freedom, the expression of solidarity from your side is especially valuable to us.

This gives us confidence that we are not alone in our aspirations to achieving stable and final peace in our region.

We are sure that the development of cooperation between Stepanakert and Donostia will contribute to the strengthening of peace and conflict normalization.”
