Kyrgyzstan MFA handed a letter of protest to the adviser and envoy of Kazakhstan Yerbol Akhmetov in connection with the “offensive statements” of the republic’s Minister of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, the press-service of Kyrgyzstan MFA reports.

"The offensive and imbalanced tone of A. Mukhamediuly’s statements in respect of the Kyrgyz Republic, which provoked a negative response among the wide public of Kyrgyzstan, is generally not in line with the spirit of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations", the MFA stressed.

The MFA also attached attention to "the facts of the recent increase in the frequency of biased statements" addressed to Kyrgyzstan and broadcast by the state media of the northern neighbor.

Earlier Tuesday, the Kazakh Minister said in an interview with local media that he gets deeply concerned when he sees labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan. According to Mukhamediuly, there is no work in the neighboring Republic, so "many Kyrgyz citizens were forced to leave".
