Greek archeologist Kostas Sismanidis has informed that after 20 years of excavations in Central Macedonia’s Stagira city on Halkidiki peninsula, he found the tomb of the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, Gazeta reports, citing ERT TV channel.

According to the scientist, the tomb was found in 1996, but there were only assumptions that the philosopher was buried there. Sismanidis noted that new data have emerged now, on the basis of which the authenticity of Aristotle’s tomb location can be confirmed.

The archeologist stressed that the burial place of the great philosopher is on the northern slope of Stagira city, exactly where Aristotle was born.
