Editor-in-Chief of Russia Today and RT TV channel, Margarita Simonyan, has reacted to the decree of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who approved the sanctions against the heads of a number of Russian media outlets.

“I read the list of those who have appeared under Poroshenko’s sanctions. I officially invite all the mentioned company to celebrate this at any weekend in June by Crimean champagne and Kuban strawberry,” she said, RIA Novosti reports.  

Poroshenko signed a decree on imposing sanctions against the heads of Russia media outlets Thursday. The list includes only 17 surnames: the general director of the Channel One television company, Konstantin Ernst; the editor-in-chief of the Novorus.info website, Andrei Surkov; the owner of the Pravda.Ru holding company, Vadim Gorshenin; the general director of the TASS news agency, Sergei Mikhailov; a former general director of the LifeNews television channel, Ashot Gabrelyanov; and the editor-in-chief of the Russia Today television channel, Margarita Simonyan.
