At least six people died and 57 were injured in clashes during the local elections in Bangladesh, RIA Novosti reported.

The clashes occurred in the northern district of Jamalpur and in the south.

Most of the dead are the supporters of certain political forces. One of the candidates also died. Law enforcement officers, as well as reporter of the Daily Star were injured.

As noted by the media, these are one of the bloodiest elections in the country's history. Since the beginning of the elections in March, dozens of people were killed. Thousands were injured in the various clashes connected with the elections.
