YEREVAN. - Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan received Iranian Justice Minister Mustafa Pourmohammadi Tuesday.

The PM welcomed the visit of the Iranian Justice Minister to Armenia, expressing conviction that it will raise the bilateral cooperation in the judicial area to a new level.

According to Abrahamyan, the ties between the two countries’ governments have been developing actively in the recent years, the mutual visits of the high-ranking officials significantly contributing to this. The PM stressed that Armenia attaches importance to the development and deepening of multi-sector cooperation with centuries-old friendly Iran.

For his part, Mr. Pourmohammadi thanked for the warm reception, giving positive assessment to the official meetings which took place in the framework of his visit. 

In his words, the mutual relations between Armenia and Iran have strategic significance, and Iran is consistent in further development and deepening of those ties. Apart from this, Mr Pourmohammadi highly appreciated the role of the Iranian Armenian community in the enhancement and deepening of centuries-old friendship between the two peoples.  

At the meeting, the interlocutors also exchanged ideas on the Armenian-Iranian joint programs in different areas, as well as prospects for the development of bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation, reconfirming the mutual readiness to further deepen the Armenian-Iranian ties.  Referring to the regional issues, the sides attached importance to the ensurance of security, peace and stability.
