The Armenian of the signs that wish welcome in four languages, and which are placed at the entrance of Tuzluca town (i.e. the historical Armenian Koghb town) in Turkey’s Iğdır Province which borders Armenia, was taken off.

The Armenian writing that read “Welcome” and “Goodbye” was removed from the town entrance for yet unknown reasons, according to Agos Armenian bilingual weekly of Istanbul.

The Tuzluca City Hall employees, however, did not comment to journalists regarding this development.

The Armenian writing was placed at Tuzluca entrance in September 2015, and upon the instruction by the Kurdish mayor of this town; this, however, had caused quite a stir especially among the Azerbaijani associations of Iğdır.
