YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia had received information on Tuesday afternoon.

Accordingly, a metal bar had pierced into the stomach of a capital city Yerevan resident, and rescuers were needed to cut off the bar.

It was found out that Andranik Vardanyan, 59, had fallen on the metal bar while working on a tree, and had damaged his stomach.

Prior to the fire and rescue workers’ arrival at the scene, however, the metal bar was cut off by local efforts.

Subsequently, a successful special surgery was conducted at “Erebouni” Medical Center, to remove the rest of the metal bar from Vardanyan’s stomach.

On Thursday, he will be transferred from the intensive care unit to a hospital room.

The hospital representatives informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the patient is now in stable condition, and none of his vital organs were damaged.
