YEREVAN. - Andranik Vardanyan, 59, whose stomach had been injured by a metal bar, remembers the incident which happened to him with a smile. According to him, he has survived by miracle, since the metal bar didn't injure any of his vital organs.

''I had climbed a tree to pick cherries, when the ladder swinged and I fell, the armature piercing into my stomach. I immediately called my neighbors, who quickly came. I am a car repairer and know very well how to act in such situations. I told them to fetch an angle grinder and an extension cord and cut the bar, since when I fell, the bar was 2 m higher than me,'' Vardanyan says.

The Ambulance workers, who had arrived at the Vardanyans house, urged to call the Emergency Service. Before the arrival of the rescuers, the neighbors cut the metal bar upon Vardanyan's demand.

''I was conscious and felt no pain,'' the man recalls.  

Vardanyan was immediately taken to Yerevan's Erebouni Medical Center, where he was shortly operated on. The man had fortunately suffered slight injuries.

Now Andranik Vardanyan is in a stable condition. The post–operation period is going on smoothly and in a few days he will be discharged.
