YEREVAN. - The ceremony of the cancellation of postage stamps on occasion of Pope Francis’ visit of to Armenia took place in Yerevan Friday. The ceremony was held parallel with the tête-à-tête meeting of the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Pope Francis at the Armenian presidential palace.

At the ceremony, the Armenian side was represented by the Chief of Armeniam President’s Administration Vigen Sargsyan.   

The stamp consists of four parts and has a form of a cross.

On occasion of the Pope’s visit, the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) also issued a commemorative medal, which depicts the official logo and motto of the Pope’s visit to Armenia: “Visit to the first Christian nation”
