YEREVAN. – Aside from the other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries, the US, China, India, Iran, and Georgia are among the most interesting countries for Armenia, in terms of development of trade and economic relations.

Robert Harutyunyan, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, told the above-said to Banks.am.

“Now, we [i.e. Armenia] are discussing with our partners the chance of exporting Indian products to Europe via Iran, Armenia,” said Harutyunyan. “We want to figure out the [respective] transport costs, time, [and] potential problems, so as to present the results of this study to Indian businessmen.”

In the deputy FM’s words, Iran and Georgia also are priority directions for Armenia.

“[But] we’re a little passive when it comes to Georgia,” added Robert Harutyunyan. “It’s clear that there is a [considerable] Turkish and Azerbaijani [business] capital in Georgia, and this has its impact.

“[But] in my view, we can implement regional projects with Georgia; for example, develop joint production. If we have good relations with the [other] EAEU countries, Iran, [and] China, this could interest the Georgians, on order to export the joint product to these countries.”
