In the south of Kyrgyzstan 18 underground tremors have been registered in one day, reports RIA Novosti, based on the information provided by the head of the Crisis Situation Management Center Mohammad Svarov.

“In one day 18 underground tremors were registered in Kyrgyzstan,” he said during a consultation meeting at the Emergency Situations Ministry. The number of tremors made magnitude 3-6 in a scale of 12. According to the preliminary data, no victims and collapses are registered.

In connection with the amplification of seismic activity the Emergency Situations Minister Kubatbek Borobov assigned the Center for Crisis Situations to carry "explanatory works among the population about the rules of conduct during earthquakes."

At the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on June 26, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake was registered. Kyrgyzstan is in the zone of a high risk of magnitude 9 earthquakes. Last November there was registered a seismic activity. More than 4 million homes and buildings were damaged to various degrees due to dozens of underground tremors. About 3 hundred families were left homeless, there were no casualties.
