YEREVAN. – The agreement on entering the Chinese market obligates to have a respective volume of products.

Arsen Ghazaryan, President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia (UMBA), stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Tuesday, and reflecting on Armenia-China economic relations.

In his words, this is the very effect of the Chinese market, and trade between Armenia and China is growing every year.

“Several cases loaded with the products of various Armenian producers already have been exported to the large trade center, which is located near Ningbo town [in China],” added Ghazaryan.

On June 11, the Armenian National Store opened at the Ningbo free trade zone.

“We expect that the opening of the store will promote Armenia-China trade,” noted the UMBA chief. “We [i.e. Armenia] need to seek markets where there are no problems with roads, and to urge our entrepreneurs to diversify exports and not to pin hopes solely on the market of our strategic partner, Russia, since a road may be closed for months in case of force majeure situations.”
