Denomination in a ratio of 10 000:1 held in Belarus  on Thursday night, seven new banknotes and eight new coins are introduced into circulation, Nasha Niva reported.

The smallest banknote will correspond to 50,000 Belarusian rubles. The whole set of new banknotes and coins makes 888 rubles and 88 kopecks.

The correspondent of the edition waited in a queue to an exchanger at the railway station of Minsk all the night and noted that work with coins is a  new experience for cashiers as there was no iron money in the country since the Soviet Union.

In turn, Naviny.by noted that the Belarusians are accustomed to operate with thousands and millions of rubles.

Until the end of 2016, the old banknotes will remain in circulation on an equal basis with the new ones. They can be exchanged for the new currency in the banks in the next two years, from 2017 to 2019, and in the National Bank during the next two years.
