In the Hakobyans house there is a celebration today. From early morning the family were waiting for the return of their son, who stroke 3 tanks of the enemy in four-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan in early April. Besides the members of the family there came 20 -year-old Schooley Hakobyan’s friends, neighbors, and relatives.
Schooley was proudly telling about the combat actions that were taking place in the front line. He told that he missed the first shot, but it did not discourage him. His persistence and patriotism moved him ahead to fight for his motherland and in the memory of his fellow soldiers who had died. " I raised to my feet and gave six shots with my bassoon. I did not hit the target for the first time, but within 30 minutes I destroyed three tanks of the enemy. There were troops as well, but there was no time to count how many soldiers there were,” said Schooley Hakobyan.
20 -year-old hero from Gyumri admits that he understood what it means to be in the military service and fight for the homeland only during the last three months of his service. He said that much has changed in his life in those months. He is imbued with truly military spirit. "Our fathers took back our lands at the cost of their lives. We cannot leave our lands for them to come and take them easily. They thought it would be easy for them to seizure our lands , but after they had entered into our positions, they retreated . We were also surprised, how so young soldiers could fight and preserve our borders. Now I 'm a demobilized reserve soldier, but it is not the end. We did what we should have done, and if needed we will definitely fight again - me , and my other friends . "
Schooley Hakobyan’s parents did not have any information about their son during the war. Schooley called them on April 3 in the evening and said that he wasn’t in the front line not to make his parents worry about him. Schooley’s parents learned about heroism of their son, after the military actions had ended. "My son is calling me rarely. On those days he almost did not call, but I was feeling something . The maternal heart always feels something. He called me on April 3, and said that he was doing well and that he was not at the front line. Then, when the war was over, he called his father and told him that he destroyed the enemy’s tanks. We were pleased and excited that our son fought for our motherland. We wish those guys would not die , they are all our sons. We feel sorry about that, and we will pray every day for our soldiers , "said Schooley’s mother.
Schooley Hakobyan is an economist. He will continue his education and will implement all the goals he had set before he joined the army.
Schooley visited the Mayor’s Office in Gyumri , before he went to see his family , where he was awarded with a gold medal. Note, that Asthat Schooley Hakobyan was awarded with a medal of 2nd degree for courage in Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
