YEREVAN. – Armenia, Iran, Georgia, Bulgaria, and Greece plan to create a transport corridor which will connect the Persian Gulf the Black Sea.

Within the framework of this project, the representatives of these countries will meet on Thursday and Friday in the Bulgarian capital city of Sofia, and discuss the respective details.

At the talks, Armenia will be represented by Davit Melkonyan, deputy head of the Department of Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Communication.

He told us that the objective of the Armenian side is to become a transit country and have access to other countries.

“We have a great interest in it, and we are proactive on this matter,” said Melkonyan. “All parties will submit their proposals.”
