A group of Armenian human rights organizations issued a statement demanding the release of opposition activists detained by police.

The statement claimed that the police abued power, and traditionally resorted to violence and provocations.

The process involved police officers disguised in civilian clothes, the authors emphasized in a statement. They also claim that the police are trying to intimidate the families of a group that seized police regiment

“We demand the immediate release of the civil activist Ani Navasardyan and detained citizens these days. We also demand holding accountable police officers who used violence against them,” the statement reads.
