The refugee from Syria and the Polish citizen whom he killed with a machete in Reutlingen were working for same institution and lived together, Polish mass media reported quoting  police and the prosecutor's office in Reutlingen.

The tragedy happened near the bus station in Reutlingen on Sunday. After quarrel with the woman, the young man attacked her with a machete and inflicted a mortal wound.

The police detained the attacker, the 21-year-old refugee from Syria. According to law enforcement agencies, the man acted alone.

Polish Foreign Ministry confirmed that the victims was a Polish woman. Bild reported that the woman was pregnant.

According to Polish media, the 45-year-old woman and her partner worked in a restaurant, RIA Novosti reported.
