The Ministry of Health is asking to refrain from impeding the activities of doctors. The press release reads:

" Since July 17 the Armenian Ministry of Health and the entire health system have always been willing to do everything possible to continue providing medical assistance to all Armenian citizens who are in need. All those injured in the Patrol police regiment in the incident are provided with proper medical care.  The Ministry pays a special attention to their daily health condition and their treatment. After having been recovered a substantial part of the injured were discharged from the hospital, whereas others are still receiving medical care in the outpatient settings.

We consider it necessary to inform that batting the ambulance car out of order, taking the driver as a hostage, preserving and using weapons in the negotiated neutral area, and shooting  do not contribute to creating an atmosphere for providing a medical assistance and hinder the work of doctors, who perform their professional duties .

Given the current situation, the City Hall Ambulance has had 6-8 cars on duties at the scene and the surrounding area up till now, to respond immediately in case of necessary . The rest of the ambulances are loaded with serving to the population of Yerevan.

There should be provided an on-site medical assistance to each applicant, either to the armed group, or to the  police officers, or to the inhabitants of the district, or the participants of the rallies. Upon necessity, there is organized a delivery to the hospital of the people in need.

As for providing a medical assistance to an injured member of the armed group, up till now we suggested to move him to the hospital to provide with  an adequate medical treatment. We informed him of possible consequences , but the armed group has rejected our suggestion. Once again, please refrain from hindering the professional work of the doctors, who carrying out their obligations with  great willingness  and dedication, and from  creating additional tensions.”
