YEREVAN. - The members of Sasna Tsrer armed group Ashot Petrosyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan, who were injured in their legs during a shootout with the police on Tuesday night, have been moved to Penitentiary Clinic of the Armenian Health Ministry.
Petrosyan and Jarutyunyan have been charged under Articles 219 (3) and 235 of the Armenian Criminal Code.
At around 2 a.m., a vehicle moved in the direction of Erebuni police department from the area of captured regiment. When the car was close to the cordon, the police opened fire on the engine, and retaliatory shots were heard out of the car. The police then opened fire at the wheels.
Two of the three men sitting in the car were injured in their legs, but managed to return to the territory of the regiment.
Law enforcement officers immediately summoned medical team and offered to take the wounded to the hospital. The group agreed, two wounded - Ashot Petrosyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan – are hospitalized.
