YEREVAN. – An armed group will release four medical workers, if the Minister of Health Armen Muradyan will leave for a regiment with a team of surgeons, director of ambulance service Taguhi Stepanyan said.

“Our employees were called with the help of intermediaries, they said a man is dying. At the site it was revealed that the condition is not too severe. The man wounded on the first day had to be taken to hospital in order to avoid serious consequences,” she told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

There was a preliminary agreement that assistance will be provided in the neutral zone. But when it was said about delivery to the hospital, the doctors went to the territory of the regiment with a stretcher. In response, members of the group asked to treat wounds on the spot and refused from hospitalization. They offered a precondition,: they will remain there until the minister appears at a police regiment with a group of surgeons.

“I tried to contact our staff. However, someone who identified himself as Sedrak, talked about conditions. No matter how hard I tried to persuade to release them, in response I heard: “no longer call here.” I asked to set the nurse free. In response I heard - 'no, let her stay until everything is settled',” Taguhi said.

She also stressed that there are no necessary conditions for the surgery at the regiment.

Meanwhile, “Sasna Tsrer” group claims that doctors “are not held hostage.”  According to them, the doctors will be released only if a health worker will stay on duty at the regiment.
