Armenia’s Founding Parliament radical opposition group member Alec Yenikomshian, who is currently detained and kept at the Facility for Keeping Detainees of the National Security Service (NSS), is not provided with basic living conditions.

Yenikomshian’s attorney Nikolay Baghdasaryan told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

“The conditions are not provided. Instead of setting him free, attempt is made to create artificial conditions, without understanding that those conditions are unfavorable for a person with disabilities. He is blind and they have detained him. Special conditions should be provided for persons with disabilities. Now we are trying to take measures together with the relatives to provide conditions for my client to be able to live,” Baghdasaryan said.

He also noted that all the objections related to the lawfulness of detaining Yenikomshian have already been recorded and will soon be submitted.

According to Baghdasaryan, his client is not in good health. “He takes medicines. He is 60 and a man cannot be detained in that condition. They have simply him from political activity,” the attorney added.

Yenikomshian is suspected of assisting the armed group which has seized the Erebuni police stations since July 17.

Baghdasaryan also noted that there have been many violations in the preliminary investigation stage, and he has turned to the Ombudsman and is now going to enter the isolator together with the latter to remove those violations.
