U.S. Air Force turned to the defensive industry with the offer to prepare projects on creation of new intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM )ground and air-based cruise missiles, namely Long-Range Standoff (LRSO) weapons, TASS reported.

The LRSO systems without excess expenses will increase efficiency of the V-52, V-2, V-21 bombers  (the developed perspective bomber) that will allow to constrain opponents, and also to show to allies the opportunities, the statement of the Air Force representatives said.

Militaries asked the working contractors to submit offers on creation of new generation of ICBM in the sphere of military industrial complex, stating that the first contracts are planned to be concluded in summer.

It is expected that the new settings will replace the current Minuteman 3 rockets since 2027. Now in the U.S. arsenal their number is 450.   This modernization might cost 62.3 billion dollars.  Besides, the Pentagon wants to replace the AGM-86B air-launched cruise missile which, as well as Minuteman, can carry thermonuclear charge. The price of these contracts is not specified.
