YEREVAN. - The march in support of the Sasna Tsrer armed group has reached Yerevan’s France Square.

When the march participants reached the Republic Square and started voicing scans addressed to the government, Anti-Crisis Initiative Council member Albert Baghdasaryan announced that they will move to Liberty Square via Nalbandyan street, Armenian News - NEWS.am correspondent reports.

Many people got angry, demanding to march to Khorenatsi street, but Baghdasaryan was adamant and led the march in the direction he mentioned.

The march participants scanned near the National Security Service (NSS) building and moved along the Sayat-Nova street to France Square. There they stood and blocked the traffic. The protestors have decided to stage a sit-in and block the start of the Baghramyan Avenue.

Police forces have been brought to the avenue upon the order of Yerevan Chief of Police Ashot Karapetyan.

The police used violent force against the protestors gathered in Sari Tagh district and Khorenatsi street on Friday. 165 people were detained, 73 people being hospitalized.  Moreover, a dozen of journalists have suffered as a result of the actions by the police.  The plainclothes men broke down and seized the camera of Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.
