The State Investigative Service of Azerbaijan has detained four Azerbaijani citizens, suspected of having links with the Islamist priest Fethullah Gülen, who is accused of attempting a coup in Turkey. The republic’s Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Investigative Service disseminated the information on the detentions on Friday, TASS reports.

“On the ground of the applications of a company providing mobile services in the Azerbaijani Republic, [a number of] the citizens of the country suspected of committing crimes related to the violation of the legislation on operational investigative activity and abuse of power have been detained,” the statement reads.

It is also noted that the detainees worked in different mobile companies and unlawfully provided to a number of persons the personal information of various subscribers.
