France’s Council of State (the highest court of the country) recognized the ban on Muslim women's swimwear passed in Villeneuve-Loubet as a violation of human rights, reports the Lenta, referring to the BFMTV channel. 

The judgment refers only to one of the three dozen cities that banned burkini. However, it can serve as a precedent for other cities, that had passed such a resolution. The Council of State filed two complaints against burkini ban in Villeneuve-Loubet -to the Human Rights League (LDH) and Collective against Islamophobia (CCIF):
