The Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Bert Koenders is going to raise the issue of Turkey’s interference into the domestic affairs of Holland during his visit to Ankara next week.

Koenders made the aforementioned statement after the Turkish Consulate General directed a letter to the local authorities with recommendations on how to deal with the anti-Turkish rallies, DutchNews reports.

According to the portal, the precise content of the letter is unknown. Nevertheless, Mayor of Rotterdam demanded a meeting with the Turkish consul.

Talking to journalists, Koenders stressed that the Netherlands deals with the Dutch society, while the Turkish government has nothing to do there.

‘We understand the emotions which stem from the terrible attempted coup. But let us solve our differences here… We are free to talk about Turkey and they are free to talk about us, but ultimately, this is a question of national responsibility here in the Netherlands,” the FM noted.

The source also says that since the failed coup in Turkey, the Dutch Turkish community representatives have been receiving threats.
