The UN Secretary General's Special Representative Michael Keating strongly condemned the terrorist attacks on one of the Mogadishu hotels, which killed 13 people, and  injured more than 20. The UN representative expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished a quick recovery to the injured.

A truck loaded with bombs exploded near a hotel in the capital of Somalia. The incident occurred not far from the buildings of the President and the Federal Parliament. At the moment of the explosion, there was a meeting going on with the participation of members of parliament and the government. Al-Shabaab Islamic extremist group took the responsibility for the attack.
