YEREVAN. – Considering the four-day war which Azerbaijan had unleashed against the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) in early April and the fact of the 100 respective casualties, it was decided to mark Artsakh’s 25th independence anniversary celebration as discreetly as possible, on Friday, September 2, according to Hraparak newspaper.

“While in previous years a large delegation of the authorities from Armenia was leaving [for NKR] to attend the celebration, this time it was decided to form the delegation from the heads of all factions [in the Republic of Armenia National Assembly (RA NA)], who, in addition to participating in the 25th anniversary events, will visit military units, border positions.

“[But] the RA NA President will not go; the head of government also will not go to. [But] according to tradition, [President] Serzh Sargsyan will be alongside the people of Karabakh [on that day],” Hraparak wrote.
