The new composition of the Russian parliament cannot "ensure a good future" for the country commented the chairman of the PACE Monitoring Committee Stefan Schennach on State Duma elections, reports  the DW .

He reminded that the Russian authorities have not invited the PACE observation mission to monitor the parliamentary elections. At the same time,  the fact that in the State Duma elections only one opposition politician had a victory is not a norm.

Schennach also said that the PACE does not recognize the elections held in the territory of Crimea .  As he said, no one can know what happed there, since the elections were not observed.  He also reminded that the President of the PACE Monitoring Committee applied to the Russian authorities for visiting Crimea to implement the mission, but received no response.
